00Cr20Mo2 is an ultra-low carbon high-chromium molybdenum stabilized ferritic stainless steel bright bar with carbon ≤0.025%, chromium 19.0%~21.0% and molybdenum 1.75%~2.50%. Trace titanium/niobium is added to fix carbon and eliminate intergranular corrosion after welding. It is an upgraded high-corrosion-resistance ferritic stainless steel with nickel-free composition, much more cost-effective than 316L and 904L austenitic stainless steel.
It delivers balanced comprehensive mechanical properties, moderate tensile and yield strength, stable load-bearing capacity, excellent plasticity, deep drawing and cold heading formability. Appropriate deformation occurs under force to avoid brittle fracture; its hardness can be flexibly adjusted after annealing for long-term stable wear resistance. The high-chromium & high-molybdenum alloy system forms dense and stable passivation film, delivering far superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, chloride ions, salt spray, seawater and mild acid & alkali media compared with 00Cr17Mo2 and 00Cr18Mo2, greatly extending service life in coastal, water treatment and mildly corrosive chemical environments.
It features excellent machinability with low tool wear during turning, milling, drilling and CNC automatic lathe processing. Cold drawing and centerless precision grinding stably produce workpieces with ultra-high surface finish and precise dimensional accuracy. It boasts good thermoplasticity for hot working with smooth hot rolling and forging for various corrosion-resistant precision blanks, valve bodies and electromagnetic components. Only slight work hardening appears in cold working to ensure stable bending and cold heading while improving surface finish and overall mechanical performance.
With soft magnetism of low permeability, low linear expansion coefficient and outstanding resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, it serves as premium special raw material for seawater equipment, water treatment valves, chemical corrosion-resistant precision shafts and solenoid valve iron cores.
