304H  is a high-carbon heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel bright bar derived from grade 304 series, with controlled carbon content of 0.04%~0.10%, higher than standard 304 and 304L. It adopts classic 18Cr-8Ni austenitic matrix and is non-magnetic under solution annealed state.
Carbon delivers solid-solution strengthening, greatly improving high-temperature rupture strength and creep resistance. It resists softening, deformation and creep failure under long-term high-temperature pressure service at 500~870°C, and withstands short-term oxidation up to 925°C. It features balanced room-temperature mechanical properties, stable tensile & yield strength and outstanding ductility, enabling uniform plastic deformation under load to avoid brittle fracture. It cannot be hardened via heat treatment; cold working causes work hardening, while annealing restores toughness.
It offers stable machinability for CNC turning, milling and drilling, excellent thermoplasticity for smooth hot rolling & forging, and supports cold forming including bending, stamping and cold heading. Its room-temperature resistance to atmosphere, fresh water and mild acid & alkali is comparable to standard 304. Due to high carbon content, chromium carbide precipitation easily occurs with long-term exposure at 450~850°C, leading to intergranular corrosion sensitization after welding. It is mainly applied for high-temperature pressure-bearing and non-severe corrosive environments, serving as core raw material for high-temperature heat exchange and pressure parts in boilers, power generation and petrochemical industries.
