316 is a general molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel bright bar. Around 2% molybdenum is added on the basis of 304, with carbon ≤0.08%, and it is nearly non-magnetic after solution annealing.
It features balanced comprehensive mechanical properties, moderate tensile and yield strength, outstanding plasticity, deep drawability and cold heading performance. Uniform plastic deformation occurs under load to avoid brittle fracture. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment; cold working induces work hardening, while high toughness can be restored via solution annealing.
It delivers stable machinability for mass CNC turning, milling, drilling and automatic lathe processing. It has excellent thermoplasticity for smooth hot rolling and forging, and supports cold forming processes including bending, stamping and cold heading.
Molybdenum greatly improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, offering far better performance against seawater, brine, mild acid & alkali and chloride-containing chemical media than grade 304. It boasts strong universal corrosion resistance at room and medium-low temperatures as well as excellent weldability, serving as core general stainless steel raw material for food equipment, chemical industry, water treatment, seawater facilities and precision instruments.

Core Advantages Over Competitors
1. High quality stability: Standardized full closed-loop production and online spectral quality inspection cover all links from raw material screening to finished delivery. Precisely control key chemical elements including carbon, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, silicon and manganese with stable molybdenum content. Minimal batch fluctuation in hardness, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties ensures consistent performance for mass automatic processing.
2. Excellent surface quality: Dedicated high-precision cold drawing and centerless grinding lines produce bars free of peeling, scratches and pits with superior flatness and finish. Smooth surface reduces tool wear and surface stress concentration to extend component fatigue life, and can be directly used without secondary polishing for most conventional machining.
3. Ultra-high dimensional accuracy: Precision rolling mills and automatic online dimension detectors narrow tolerance range with tiny single-bar error and strong batch uniformity. Unified part specifications during automatic mass production raise finished yield and machining precision.
4. Rich product variety: According to market demand and customer's special requirements, customized 316 bright bar products are provided to meet the use requirements under various complex working conditions, providing customers with more choices.
5. Perfect after-sales service: The perfect after-sales service system can respond to customer needs and feedback in a timely manner. For problems encountered by customers during use, technical support and solutions are provided to customers quickly.
