430F is sulfur free-machining ferritic stainless steel bright bar.

MnS inclusions act as chip breakers and lubricants during cutting, greatly improving CNC automatic lathe efficiency and reducing tool wear, specially developed for mass precision Swiss-type machining.

Its basic corrosion & medium-temperature performance is close to 430: resistant to atmosphere, fresh water and mild food acid, poor chloride & seawater resistance. It cannot be hardened by quenching; annealing at 700~850℃ relieves residual stress and improves ductility. Low plasticity only fits simple turning, severe cracking occurs during deep drawing & cold heading, not suitable for bending/stamping.

Limitations: MnS inclusions degrade pitting resistance and corrosion fatigue. Sulfur causes porosity & hot cracking during welding, not allowed for welded structures and pressure anti-corrosion components. Long-term heating at 400~600℃ precipitates chromium carbide and leads to intergranular corrosion.
