S32304 is low-nickel low-molybdenum cost-effective duplex stainless steel bright bar with balanced 40~60% ferrite-austenite dual phase.
Low Mo-Ni formula cuts alloy cost significantly. Nitrogen solid-solution hardening delivers yield strength ≥400MPa, nearly double of 304/316L. It combines ferrite’s outstanding chloride SCC resistance and austenite’s low-temperature toughness, eliminating SCC cracking failure of 304/316L in warm chloride water. High chromium matrix provides better pitting & crevice corrosion resistance than 304, close to standard 316L. Ultra-low carbon prevents chromium carbide sensitization after welding, no post-weld annealing required for thin-wall parts.
Standard solution treatment: Water quench at 980~1030℃ to stabilize balanced dual-phase ratio. It cannot be hardened by quenching; cold working induces work hardening, while re-solution annealing restores balanced duplex microstructure and high toughness.
