SCr440

SCr440 is an alloy structural steel wire. The tensile strength, yield strength and hardenability of SCr440 wire are higher than those of No. 40 steel, but its weldability is limited and it has a tendency to form cracks. It should be preheated before welding. It also has good toughness and plasticity. When facing complex stress, it shows amazing flexibility and is not easy to break. It has good wear resistance and durability. Its high tensile strength and yield strength can withstand large forces and loads, extending the service life of parts.

Application: Used to manufacture more important quenched and tempered parts, such as parts working under alternating load, medium speed and medium load parts;
After surface quenching, it can be used for parts with high load and wear resistance without large impact, such as gears, sleeves, shafts, crankshafts, pins, etc. Widely used in automobile, machinery and other industries.

Mechanical properties:

-Tensile strength σb ≥ 980MPa, yield strength σs ≥ 785MPa, elongation δ5 ≥ 9%, cross-sectional shrinkage ψ ≥ 45%, impact energy Akv ≥ 47J, impact toughness value αkv ≥ 59 (6) J/cm², hardness ≤ 207HB.

-For specimens with a diameter or thickness of 8-20mm, yield strength σs ≥ 785MPa, tensile strength σb ≥ 930MPa; for specimens with a diameter or thickness of 20-40mm, yield strength σs ≥ 755MPa, tensile strength σb ≥ 910MPa;

-For specimens with a diameter or thickness of 40-100mm, yield strength σs ≥ 725MPa, tensile strength σb ≥ 890MPa.

It should be noted that the mechanical properties of specimens with different diameters or thicknesses may vary.

Heat treatment specifications: The quenching temperature is 850℃, oil cooling; the tempering temperature is 520℃, water cooling or oil cooling.

Delivery status: Delivery in heat-treated (normalizing, annealing or high-temperature tempering) or non-heat-treated state, the specific delivery state should be indicated in the contract.
